Brian has a deep passion for starting and leading ventures that make a positive difference in the world. He currently helps foundations, nonprofits, and socially-responsible companies design strategies to catalyze profound change.
Most recently, Brian founded Friendfactor, an award winning technology-driven LGBT rights organization that educated and engaged straight supporters. As CEO, he led Friendfactor to create a groundbreaking online advocacy tool, which was used in the landmark 2011 New York marriage equality campaign and featured on the front page of the New York Times.
Prior to starting Friendfactor, Brian helped tech entrepreneurs scale up their businesses while he was Director of Entrepreneur Services at Endeavor Global--an international development venture philanthropy firm. His experience spans multiple sectors, having worked at Bain & Company, The Bridgespan Group, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Brian also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in Public Policy from Stanford University.
Brian is a winner of the SXSW 2012 Dewey Winburne Community Service Award, the 2010 Harvard Business School Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship, the 2010 PopTech Fellowship, and his work to start Friendfactor was named one of Yahoo!’s Top 10 Inspiring Acts of 2010.
Brian is an experienced public speaker on topics ranging from technology an innovation and strategy, to the intersection of lean startups and social change.
